and begins the techy…….

December 26, 2008

hmmm!!! am a student from an IT background and u may all expect me to sit and play in java or vb or whatever language as u may say…. but i am not so! this means am not so bad in all those things but,…. my aim and ambition is to get into the managerial aspects of an organization and i suppose this platform -TESTING would surely be one good way to pursue my career.!! hah!! lets seee….

this is my 3rd day in the DBMS class.. for the expectation and the exercises we worked out for the past 2 days, got a news/rumor that dbms was NOT for the module assessment!! hmmm!!! all my efforts to score great went volatile in seconds!!

and, with respect to the other activities,… i am the batch rep for my batch. enjoyed more than a week just seeing the company’s ambience…. hmmm!! one thing that i couldn’t resist!!! the cognizant culture… just thinking of my superiors to be called by their names.. but couldn’t avoid sir/ ma’am!! hmmm!! but for a traineee let me maintain this respect unless and until i am through all hurdles at the entry level ) !!

MORE XPERIENCES 2 COME!!!

first little days @ cognizant

December 26, 2008

hmmm!!! as the wait came 2 an end, we were asked 2 report @ MEPZ, tambaram @ chennai on the scheduled date. the day of great thoughts, the day of great exitement, the day of sheeeer happiness. yessss… when many others were waiting with a job and an offer letter in their hand, i got my date of joining. Cool what a moment to enjoy in such a great campus like that!!!

from now on i can address myself as CHANDUJI from COGNIZANT rather than my college,(hmmm don’t ever think that’s a small place. its the great SRM UNIVERSITY.

from the day of placements, i came 2 know the great qualities of the company like punctuality, honesty, integrity….. and the same way it was depicted at the presentation.. then.. we had to fill as many forms… formalities.. lots of doubts in the middle and then it ended around 12.45 at the noon. it was another day that began the free coffee/tea culture. i drank around 4 cups… then realized that was silly and reduced to 2 cups a day. :)

it so happened that the sessions to be interactive on the first day, my senior colleagues coducted some activities, i jus dunno where did i get the confidence and i jus went to dance…. wow!!! hmmmm but thought was something and the action did not… nooo way it co-operated. i fell down on the stage and my whole tiny Foot in mouth physique came down like a thunder…

in yet another game our team named JAM emerged as the winner and i got a small kitty bag. poor nisha….. with her sore throat, she came and conducted the activities one by one. the other names i remember that day were… kannan, kandavel, sandron etc etc…..

the most impressive speech was on the second day, when the army man, JASON, gave us the details about the rules. we were totally amazed with the domain we got… hmmm yet we were satisfied that only with this we can sustain this DOG EAT DOG WORLD…

i shouldn’t forget the name of our batch owner…. ANTONY…

you can add me on orkut if u like )

into the city of joy……

August 19, 2008

after getting down at the howrah station, i found something really amazing. to my knowledge this was previously present in chennai egmore station. this was of the same kind but a bit different. check this image out.

the cars can be brought inside the station thro a flyover, pick the passengers and leave out the other way. the only thing was that it should be a private vehicle or a tourist taxi and not the normal yellow taxis plying there. it was a real good idea. the howrah station has aroung 24 platforms out of which the last 8 or so are reserved for south eastern railway and the rest are for the eastern railway and the others. howrah is said to be the busiest railway station and to control the rail traffic there are nearly 4 destinations namely, HOWRAH, SEALDAH, SHALIMAR and so called station called CALCUTTA which is also near SEALDAH station.

I should give a special mention to this sealdah station coz it is one of the busiest stations. who said bombay – church gate and victoria stations are busy? jus come and see here. one of the main reasons is that calcutta is the main hub for any travel taken towards the eastern india. nearly all the trains that go to the east and northeast and a few trains towards BIHAR and JHARKAND do touch the border of WEST BENGAL.

hmmm.. now coming back to the travelogue, this city is said to be the most laziest cities of INDIA. would you ever imagine that the peak hour in the roads(the time when most of the traffic jam takes place coz of office goers) is between 11 am to 12.30 in the noon? but in the evening its the same case as all the other cities. yaa, between 5.30 pm till 7.30 pm.

it took us nearly more than an hour to reach home. then after a refreshing bath, we went to a restaurant the first day itself, since my aunt wanted not to spoil my mouth by cooking the first day itself. lol. actually she’s one of the best cooks i have ever seen. since there were no raw materials available she couldn’t cook that day coz of nearly a month long trip and back home. we got all the provisions from the store and returned back home.

another thing i found there was the cheapest labour availability. yes… to carry your goods from the market back home, you can hire a coolie for a mere 5 rs. and that fellow would happily do anyhing for the money you give. once he kept the things at home he thanked us saying. “THANK YOU DADA” i wonder how did these people learnt the word thank u…. DADA is a coloquial way of telling sir or brother or whatever…..

when we were nearing home i was sooo very tempted to take PUCHKA’s. nothing but the bengali name of PANI PURI. for a mere 10 bucks i got some 15 puri’s to eat and after that went to the sweet shop nearby and had the most famous ROSSOGOLLAS. ya, calcutta is most famous for these. and in general terms the sweets were known as SANDES.this became my daily routine till i started back home to chennai. both, puchka wala and the sweet shop owner became close friends of mine and they gave me and some more of the stuff than they give for all. yaa its normal in most of the places all over. i began to enjoy my 3 week long vacation there.

a trip to the city of joy!

August 19, 2008

hi! am back once again with a story to tell

after a great toil with ma college and semesters my college life came to a succesful end! i got a gpa of 9.5 in the final semester, truly a overwhelming performance. it all happened all of a sudden. my chitti(mother’s sister) came to chennai for a wedding and due to the unpredicted monsoons they came one day late to chenai from calcutta. their return was not confirmed because of train cancellation and all those stuffs. the only work i did was to go to the railway station or check in the internet whether the train was running or not and cancel and re book the tickets. so probably this may have tempted me to go there. so, as a sudden i planned ma trip to calcutta. and in my case too the fate was written. my train had got cancelled.

u won’t believe that we(me and ma chitti) went there in the most weirdest route! luckily we got a train to delhi and the famous rajhdhani from there to calcutta.

the train to delhi was named GARIB RATH. u can see the train and we had got only ac chaircar as 3 tier ac was not available. thinking that the place would be comfortable, we were ready for the trip. everything was exceptional in the train except to the horror that we had no push back seats for comfort. we had to adjust. no problem!

the train started and we got settled and as per the charts i checked, the passengers in my previous seat were boarding at a very later station and hence we both took both the seats – to say 6 seats(3 each) and we laid down in a bit difficult but in some way!

the journey was peaceful until we reaced nagpur. i meant to say that since most of the train was empty till that station we found easier to move around and sleep well. after that we had to sit because the whole train was jam packed and all the seats were reserved. hmmmm!! what to say! we were like an arranged book shelf! it was really a super fast train as it reaches delhi in 28 hours from chennai nearly a vast journey of over 2000 kms! but as per the time i noted, it was already 2 hours late when it reached nagpur.

if it had been any other normal day we would have been consoled ourselves, the horror was in our immediate trip the same day of arrival at delhi – departure to calcutta. we had to board the rajhdhani the next day evening at 5pm. so exiting rite!

we reached a station named jhansi the next morning where i had hot chenna-batura(pooris with chenna gravy and onion pieces) for breakfast. it was very yummy just for 10rs. i had 2 rounds of it in the mean time the train was being cleaned by a private agency.

finally we reached delhi, the horrrible nasty station of hazrath nizamuddin.

a great thanks to my best beloved pal RAGHAV and his parents mainly! they helped us at delhi. we had to get down at hazrath nizamuddin and go all the way to new delhi to board the train to howrah to go to calcutta. his mom made superb delicacies and i have no words to describe such an awesome food! it was really superb. as per his advise, we went to his home took a bath and then had our food and then left to new delhi station. a great thanks to his father for picking us and dropping us on time.

our train was at 1700 hours and to our dismay the delhi station was another blunder, another horrible station i have never seen in ma lifetime, even bombay victoria terminus was cleaner than this. and the fact is that delhi is our national capital. hmmm!! noo words to tell.  also the train was not in the platform even at 1640 hrs. then the beautiful prestigious train chugged its way on to platform no. 8, the famous rajhdhani express.

after bidding farewell to raghav we were on our way to howrah from delhi and as per our schedule the journey was 17 hrs. an important thing to note here is the food being served in the train. it was a great astonishment for us that the food served in this train was excellent and very very tasty when compared to the food served in other trains. its all the ones we order and we pay for it and i don’t know why the hell we don’t get a proper food in other trains like the same way we get in this train.

the food was delecious here too. the moment the train had started we were given

tea, cutlet, pakodas, breadsticks, sandwich, and a sandesh(sweet) all fresh and hot.

we took a good nap after the tiring 30 hours of sitting journey and we slept the moment we stretched our legs.  one more thing to say about the train. though the train was prestigious the air condition was not as powerful as in that garib rath. and the compartment was not as clean as it was in the previous train we travelled.

after some time we were woken up by the atttendants for serving the dinner. we were served with,

breadsticks, soup, jeera rice, dal, peas panner, rumali roti, curd and salad.

after havng that superb dinner we went to sleep again and woke up the next day morning around 0800 hrs. we found that the train was running 90 mins late and we thought that ok fine no tension as of now because we were going to reach the destination anyways. when the train was nearing howrah we found out that the train had increased its speed to an extent that it was only 15 mins late. great!! isnt it??

finally we reached the destination howrah and we took a taxi to get into the city of calcutta, the city of joy.

THE LAST SEMESTER OF MY ENGINEERING CAREER

July 27, 2008

yes, it was the last semester of my engineering career and the only semester we can enjoy with all my chaps! as we had thought of earlier, we had 3 working days, like 2 half days and 1 full day, the rest 2 days of the week was an official working but a holiday for the project and the rest 2 were the weekend. the college pattern had changed by this semester that monday to friday would be working from 8.30 to 3.30 and the weekends would be a holiday. many heaved a sigh of relief, anyways classes won’t be going soooo proper. we were all overjoyed by seeing the timetable of the semester with regard to the known staffs and this time especially our beloved sridhar sir was to take the comprehension classes, but what to do, his presence was felt only for 4 or 5 classes because he was the head of the department and was totally hectic for him. whatever may be the case, the name is enough!!

the only wonder in the timetable was a staff named DR.ANDRIJA MARICIC. we wondered who and how he would be. then came the shock that he was the foreign professor who joined our college. the first class seemed to be a greek and latin for us and when he started introducing himself we thought ok fine he’s gonna be the only staff who’s class is gonna be monotonous, to my thought i was even more exited because i wanted to know how they teach or impart education in the foreign unversities. a tall and well built as his description would be, seemed to be a man at his late 40′s. but oh god when i happened to poke ma eye into his identity card, he is a senior citizen as per the aging given by the indian government. yes, more than 60!! was highly active in the class and introduced himself as ANDRIJA MARICIC (should be pronounced as “ANDRIA MARICHICH” got that!).the other staffs were our well known malathy ma’am and our beloved class incharge!! there was a big confusion with respect to the electives chosen and a few were interchanged. since time went on, none could be altered.

by this time in our horrible it park, they had got an elevator, which was suppose to facilitate the students and staff going to the 5th and beyond floors was flooded by those in the 3rd or 4th floor itself and as usual the students came to the classes very late. i had no option of using this in the morning coz i would probably be the first person to enter the block and would climb up the staircase 2 reach ma floor. i began to get adapted to the surrounding and used to take a brisk walk from the station in the morning and reach my block in some 7to 8 mins time which many hesitated to do so, they used to rush themselves by the crowded college bus from the main campus, of which some drivers refused to let them in. very very horrrible situation. and some others used to take the bus service from the main campus to the hospital behind which was not an alternative to the college buses!

the college facilities sprung up. there was an higginbothams store in ma campus, food courts and java green too! wow!! now many were hanging up there instead of those messy canteens in the college!! i really appreciate the management for bringing up an alternative to that horrrrrrrrrible canteen food!!

in the mean time we had to resume our projects. hah that one was another horrible blunder by our previous hod! she wanted us to do the project on our own and not work in any company projects if so obtained. coz of this most of us had to do a lot of groundwork. hah!! lol! u can just guess wat this would mean! ok fine leave it! we somehow managed it. and we somehow convinced the panelists during the first review! then came a great work. we had to meet the project guide every week. me and my project partner mr.dude was mostly absent and before the 2nd review i met her only twice and then didn’t meet her the consecutive weeks! but thank god! my panelist was damn easy and lenient too. they understood our situation. whether they understood or not, didn’t pester us like

“others”.

our beloved juniors were very eager to send us out of the college unofficially. “the farewell”. its a known fact that cse department are the forerunners of any great event. but i didn’t expect that they’ll be the fore runners for the farewell too. we expected the college to be over by the month of april or at the max may 2nd week. usually the farewell would be during the near last month. but this time it was on feb 29th. we couldn’t even believe and thought it was just a joke and did then we realised that it was a leap year and feb 29th was not an imaginary date! then due to some reasons it was later postponed to march 10th – the date which one expects everyone to attend but couldn’t be attended by around 10% pf the people.

then,

a great plan went on in our department with regard to a tour in the final semester of our college which was a blundering flop! we were unable to leave most of the people behind coz of placements and a few other monetary reasons and other reasons too…. we couldn’t make it up! and it was decided that the class students might go for a class level tour.

usually it happens that whatever differences one might be having from the beginning of the college life, they usually forget and come together in the last semester in my beloved department it was totally the opposite. those who were very very close, really close with one another, parted or had to part because of a few blunders and egoistic clashes. this can even be said as “they had a real great understanding”!!  some were really terrible. and especially in my class which i thought was the most peaceful section in the whole department made me feel that what a section i was in. many probably think that i don know what happens in the class and i’m the one who maintains the class records and that’s it. when i came 2 knew all blunders in my class, i spent sleepless nights for more than a week and when i heard a few personal experiences i was shocked! how horrible a few were and i had no words to speak!

ok fine!! its all better to forget and forgive and yes i was positive in my stand that

THE MORE U GET TO KNOW THE NEGATIVES, THE MORE YOU CAN BE POSITIVE!!

after reading this whatever my beloved pals might question, i can just say that i have no words to answer and i’m not interestes in knowing about the probably called BLACK DAYS anymore.

ya!! again here comes the enjoyment! we had planned one fine college day to bunk and go on a trip to queensland and we went on a wednesday. a real true enjoyable moment to cherish and cannot even forget the HAPPY DAYS. we had a nice enjoyment and because of my back pain i was unable to enjoy certain great rides with them. that’s ok. when u see others enjoy u can also enjoy their pranks!!

then once again began the formalities for the project review, examination dates, exam fees, confinement and all those damn stuff. also don’t forget that slam books, autograph books etc. also played a very very important role in these times as they were a part and participle of the emotional endings.

another wholesum enjoyment was the cultural fest happened in our college. MILAN’08. there were celebrities for the function like, actor PRASANNA, REEMA SEN, BOSSKEY,etc. and the most highlighting was the valedictory fuction which had our beloved ASHAji, the great ASHA BHOSLE as the chief guest. one cannot forget the song she rendered that day,

“CHURALIYA HAI TUMNE JO DIL KO………….”

what a magnificient voice! the fest went on very impressively and whatever every one might forget my closest 2 pals wont forget the day of rock show, RAGHAV and PRASANTH’s unforgettable day in srm career and they will surely remember this moment of theirs as very very precious.

at last we had a confirmation letter that we are into a company! nothing sooo big!! it was just the distribution of offer letters to us, presided by the minister Ms.PURANDESHWARI. the function went on sooo formally and i was totally amazed with the displine of our college students. there was sheer silence in the very big auditorium that can hold 3000 people. it was suppose to be one of the biggest in asia as said by one of our foreign professors in a meeting. we finally got the offer letters and the HR representatives of the companies gave their own experiences with the placement process in our collge and the one from INFOSYS spoke really well.

finally came the last day of our engineering career officially the last working day in our class, which was made unforgettable by my beloved classmates. not only them, but by the whle collge itself. all my beloved friends treated the college as a black board and couln’t resist their temptations on its belongings. so very fondly everyone nearly inscribed their names on wherever they could find better space also very colourfully. not just that, to have a sweet memories, there were as many pastries and confectioneries that were suppose to be eaten by themselves were on the walls and chairs and tables. inscription in the greatest extent was using permanent markers and paints. what a gratitude they had for themselves and the college!! no one can spoil an environment like this. [all characters resembing to this incident are highly co incidental and any existence in real should be fined severely]

ya. so after all things finally over, began our documentation works for our project and it had n to the power of n corrections even if it was found to be correct at the first instance itself! you cannot know about anything unless you experience it and it is obvious that experience speaks. once all these formalities had got over, it was semester time. hah!! good joke rite!!

thus began our confinement. me raghav and venki assembled in the great den and began our research. this time we had 2 dens to ponder about. one was my home and the other was venki’s. and as usual venki’s mom cooked for us and we had a great time there and enjoyed every moment since it was the last time probably we could study together. so in the most enjoyable way we finished our semesters with ease and then came the great wall. the final review of the project. we thought it was a great wall barrier but in my case it was another pebble to cross, the panelist was in a great hurry and heard everything we told and asked us to leave the place as early as possible. me and my classmates and raghav preethi and eli were the first to finish the engineering career and it took 2 days for the rest of my gang mates to finsh their formalities. hah not a big deal, the review for them was on the next day, no big difference.

after all these were over we had a small get together with the beloved members of the CSEA and probably the valedictory function was held there. officially threw the CHAIR(LESS) MAN out of the throne. poor raghav!! that’s ok he has family properties. don’t underestimate him.

after a few weeks we all got our results and another cherishable moment was that all our csea gng members had more or less got a gpa of a whopping 9.5 and we were very very proud of that moment.

am proud of everything that all happened in all these four years and we are bonded with the policy of the HUTCH @ VODAFONE nerwork.

WHEREVER U GO OUR NETWORK ALWAYS FOLLOWS……

these were all the gist of my engineering career and i shall continue to write atleast about my closest ones soon.. thank u for ur patience….

chandujiii…..

FINAL YEAR – BIDDING ADIEU!

June 24, 2008

yes its obvious one needs to part from the kinda place which has been thronged for almost 4 years with all sorts of mixed reactions in it! we started beginning to feel as if we were forced to quit of our own homes!! might be a bit exaggerating but its true!! the 7th semester began with many of my friends yet to be placed in the companies!

SEVENTH SEMESTER

the day began with the first 3 companies recruitment process got over and some 23 out of 58 were placed! the next companies were arriving stage by stage in the next consecutive days and many were busy with lot of preparations, od, attendance criteria etc.. etc.

as usual my arrear and revaluation and this time becoz of my success in placements, i had asked my parents without any fear. applied for the same and got it cleared!!

AARUUSH’07

this semester i had a very very biiiiiiiiiiig engagement, RESPONSIBILITY rather. yes the tech fest we had proposed was underway with all its works in a full fledged manner and i had great thoughts of how am i/ we all gonna face this great challenge ahead! a lots of problems to be faced and lots and lots of solution plan to have devised! it would be better if i allocate a separate blog to post about the aaruush’o7 proposals and happenings.

i must mention here about one great person, we consider her as our igniter, motivator, godmother, and it goes on and on and on!! it was like kindling our spirits and enlightening ourselves, conscience to face things boldy …. our beloved DIRECTOR MA’AM MS.ANURADHA PARAKKAT. without her involvement nothing woulg have been possible! what a great power we had! A FRIEND, PHILOSOPHER AND GUIDE….

in the mean time, i had my ligament torn off and had to undergo treatment for it! the reason was said to be my weight and once when i fell down from a bus, (possible reason, i had fallen many times!!). so i missed my college and all its pending works by 10 to 15 days! my academics was to be concentrated on my part, what about aaruush??

i really have to thank all my colleagues to have supported me and keep me updated of all those things in my absence. i owe a lot to all you people! thank u!! thank u very much! this would not at all be enough if i just say them thank u!!

as things went on and on, the work was progressing and even my health started improving. the college had now realized that a tech fest has commenced and all set to create master minds and innovation!

at this moment i would also forget a big thing if i forget to thank the management for supporting our moves and allowing us to contact them whenever necessary, at times we would feel that if this tech fest had been initiated by the management it would have come out even more better and better! anyways we had to roam around the whole vicious circle with all our permission letters from block to block, dept to dept, staff to staff and once again back to square 1, every time when we wanted some task to go on!

finally the management had realized- a pitiable 3 days before the techfest, that some co-ordination to be maintained and co-operation to be carried out between the staffs and the students of each and every department. anyways it was probably a mere eyewash and every thing was solely taken care by all our committee members and all the event co-ordinators and all those people assigned to that event!! three cheers to all those who were a part of the aaruush’07 other than those who waged war with their mouths by their mere mock which proved to be wrong!

the day came – 31st august 2007, the day for which all had been waiting for. the registrations for all the events had begun after the innagurals which had a bit of confusion in it and the prelims of all the events had started up.
we had a pleasant surprise awaiting in the store! the arrival of the great legend BHARAT RATNA our beloved PRESIDENT Dr.A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM. the name itself refreshes every soul of indian youth! the mangement has got his appointment and he was with us on the 2nd day of aaruush’o7 the 1st september 2007 was an unforgettable moment in the history of srm university with a spell bound audience! we were indeed blessed by the people’s president, a great role model for every indian youth. what a great day we had. but unfortunately we had missed the presence of a great person on that day. our director ma’am couldn’t turn up on that day.
the third day went on with a great participation in the prefinals and finals of the 60 and odd events in aaruush! we were really appreciated by ther management in the most discplined way all the events were conducted!
then came the last day. a good beginning should have a good end too! we were very delighted by the overwhelmed response of around 2500 students all over the country were a part of aaruush as participators and some 700 students were responsible for all the works for aaruush. i proposed vote of thanks in the valedictory function that day, which was the first of that kind by me! i got a few appreciations for my attempt and the day ended up very well!!
we gave all the students of the event management committee a letter of appreciation for all the works thay had done!!

BACK TO PAVILION

then once again i was back in my class with my attendance a career low of 74.9. then because of the od’s granted and the medical leave acceptance i managed to get an attendance of 84.5 at the end of the semester.

amidst all these works we had a blunder, called the ZEROTH REVIEW for PROJECT which involved title selection and justification. me and my colleague BHAARADWAJ were able to convince the panelists with our attempt to work, only in the second time, our first time presentation was rejected for a lack of knowlegde!! how the hell they expect one to know something beyond the scope at the initial stage itself??

then once again began all the confinements with our semester exam dates known. this time since i was busy in all my other works than studies, i didn’t do well in all my assesments! so i kindly requested my beloved chap mr.RAGHAV to help me out with this.

this was really a new atmosphere for me! raghav and a studious boy – my beloved friend VENKI @ VENKATESH.M used to study together! and this time i was the odd one out there! sooo very biig heart for venki and a biig thanks for him! they said what all they had learnt all the previous days, and i heard them all as a blind listner and no cross questions in between unless and until i didn’t hear it or concentrate properly! at that time was the crutial india – pakistan series going on! we used to sit for sometime infront of the tv, cursing the most prominent batsman of pakistan – MISBAH-UL-HAQ. since it was against india we had to curse, otherwise we would have been the first to appreciate the way he played in the innings! and the most horrifying umpires. a special thanks to venki’s mom who prepared many many delicacies especially my favourite – puliyogare – tamarind rice! wow what an atmosphere it was to learn! it was the first ever time in my college history i learnt sooooo dedicatedly by preparing as many schedules and also following my beloved friend’s footsteps!!

it was so common after the lunch that, me and venki would seriously startup with a topic and cutout – raghav would doze off!! a nice situations to make as many cuts and pastes in photoshop with raghav’s face and reactions! venki’s house & saravana bhavan would tell stories of all the comments we had given about each and everything evolved/revolved around us!

it was at this time we got the most fascinating news inbetween one of the exams that, our beloved SRIDHAR sir, – the thala of our dept, had been made the H.O.D once again! we rejoiced the occassion very well more than india’s win in the test series!

and what else to say! as stated by my company i applied for passport and i got it duly within 2 months – very very easily!! the same time a mega work was started in my house and still going on!! – its reconstruction due to the collapsing wall and ceiling!! the semester came to an end with my vacation to BOMBAY.!!

THIRD YEAR – NEED FOR PLACEMENTS

June 24, 2008

we got an info from the well prevalent rumors that the placements would begin by the third year and we had to be very well prepared for it. i dunno about the others case but i had to be well prepared for it, for, it was my career setting time and i had to have a back up even if i plan to take up my higher studies..

FIFTH SEMESTER

this is the most enjoyable semester we have ever had till now. as the college begun, i and raghav had already planned for an industrial visit but the place was yet to be decided, proposal was yet to be framed, and permission was also yet to be got. we spoke with our beloved HOD mr.S.S.SRIDHAR and immediately he gave a nod to proceed with our works. he instructed us the procedures and he immediately got the consent from SPECK INFO SYSTEMS for a visit to their campus. what a HOD we habe had!!!we were evenmore happy when my beloved class incharge was the staff in charge for the industrial visit. we got all the formalities from him and with our proposal for an industrial visit to hyderabad and secundarabad, we approached the dean and got his immediate consent.

we were also informed from the association that there would be a student symposium in this semester and we have to work for it immediately or as early as our iv gets over.

in the mean time, as usual the results were out and in the same way i didn’t clear in MATHEMATICS – PROBABILITY AND QUEUING THEORY. this was really amazing, and as usual i applied for revaluation and got it cleared with the same old story working even now.

yes, now comes the iv. we went to Hyderabad on 2nd September 2006 and had 4 full days of enjoyment. we were accompanied by our beloved KARTHIK sir and MURUGAN sir and 3 other staffs. though our place of visit was very near all the students really enjoyed the TOUR.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT:

DAY 1: to Microsoft, and had a round about of the Husain sagar lake and prasad’s IMAX.

DAY 2: to a water theme park – golconda fort

DAY 3: to museum charminar and IMAX for a movie SUPERMAN-3

DAY 4: to speck info systems and caught the train at the very last moment

came back to Chennai on 6th sep.
the next comes our departmental symposium. as decided by our committee, the SYMPOSIUM was named, THE SEVENTH SENSE.

THE SEVENTH SENSE:

as named by our beloved chairman mr.PRAVEEN DWARAKHNATH and his counterpart the nano senior, mr.SHIVARAMAN, the symposium was named as THE SEVENTH SENSE, – one beyond 6th sense, and we started the work as early as we could, which involved:-
1. sponsorship

2. publicity

3. event segregation and finalizing

4. other works.. vettals and ottals.. i mean cut, copy, and paste works…

5. on the whole, event organization…

yes, the work began immediately after we came from the industrial visit. it began from the 9th of September, we started meeting daily. our committee comprised of the great legends:
our beloved HOD Sridhar sir, our thalaivar Bhalaji sir and our beloved staff members, Sabha sir, YOUTH Karthik sir, Murugan sir, Labbai sir, Ganesh Kumar sir, and a few other staff members, who were the part and participle of the association. it then comprised of the student members including me, RAGHAV, PRASANTH, SYED RAHIM SAJITH, PREETHI, RAJI, SUNDARI, JASMIN ELIZABETH MATTHEW, SAHIL-the great drawer(hey.. artist ya), beloved seniors: VIKAS bhaiya, nano SHIVA, 420 PRAVEEN DWARAKHNATH(THE GREAT CHAIRMAN), network NARASIMHA RAGHAVAN, terror VISHWANT,SARAVANAN, VARUN, RAJESH, MADHU, SARANYA, DIVYA, AISHWARYA, and a few others.
we then segregated the events in a generalized format and then started working for the sponsorships. when u mean sponsorship, you just think of one sure shot who would sponsor any kind of a technical event. yes, its the family of COGNIZANT. they were the first sponsors who were ready with their amount. the next came as a very biiiiiig surprise for us, our beloved chairman, MR.PRAVEEN DWARAKHNATH got TVS as sponsors, sponsoring a brand new TVS APACHE bike. that was a great achievement. no other symposium had ever given a bike as the prize. so it was decided that, the one with a maximum points at the end of the final would be winning the bike.
then, there was only 3 weeks more for the symposium when we thought of something very different. praveen thought of having a rock show for the event, in order to help the fund flow into the association to help the conduction of events easier and in a very great manner. as decided and finalized, the rock show was priced at rs.200/- per ticket and the sales began.

in the mean time the posters and the pamphlets were made ready and were sent to various colleges for participation and publicity. also the students were roaming in and around for sponsors. the name seventh sense was all over heard in the college and when the rock show tickets were released, the name even went on bigger. the whole college was expectin something biiiiiig. other department the rumors spread like forest fire that the college management was giving us 3 lakhs for event conduction, which was a white lie. we got only 1 lakh from the college and now only we started getting from the sponsors.
then came a very big blow. we heard the news from shiva that our beloved hod was unable to proceed with his post and said that he would discontinue as the hod. we also got the news that a new hod was to come within a week. oh no.. how horrible!!! but, you can’t say so… who knows the tortures and pressures he might have been facing??

it was on 29th September the ECE department had their symposium and we were demanded by their HOD not to brand name THE SEVENTH SENSE with which we got the idea. though there were not many participants, all their eyes were on the brand new TVS APACHE which we took delivery on that day and kept in front of our very famous Hi-tech block. in the pic u can see me standing near the bike and giving a pose. what a crowd we had for the 2 days of display!!!
the new HOD named, Dr. JAYATI GOSHAL came and joined on the day of VIJAYA DASAMI – the most auspicious day. as usual we were working on that day with our last week works. i remember, it was on a monday and the symposium was on the immediate friday. we heard all the new set of constraints and other infos and the proceedings and orders she imposed to the staff on the very first day od joining. we had an immediate realization that SRIDHAR sir should have been the HOD atleast till the end of the symposium for the works to get on smooother.
then came the day of work, 5th october 2006. THE SEVENTH SENSE was innagurated by renowned dignitaries and eminent personalities and the registration began for the two day long battle!!! then arose a problem again. due to a problem created by a biotech guy to our department guy, the DEAN demanded and ordered that no biotech students shall be allowed for the rock show, where most of the tickets were purchased by them alone. so we had a very very tough time ahead and we were to be prepared for the worst. then came a heavy sigh of relief, when our beloved chairman PRAVEEN and SHIVA negotiated with the DEAN and the problem was solved. there was a heavy crowd and BOUNCERS were brought in by us for crowd controlling. the rock show began after an hours delay due to the heavy crowd of more than 2500 people. before the main band of the day could play, there was a small show by our college band THE CATELEPSY, comprising of my department students and a guitarist from mechanical department. the show went on very very well and it ended up at 9.50 pm.
the next day’s work went on excellently well and we were all set for the valedictort function presided by our TECHNICAL AND RESEARCH ADVISOR, Dr.PONNAVAIKKO, and our beloved SRIDHAR sir, and other dignitaries. the prize distribution was the most exiting of all. there was a tie for the first 3 prizes between 3 winers and a tie for the 5th prize between 8 winners of various wars(events). as per the questions asked by our ADVISOR, we removed the tieup and mr.VIJAY DANIEL of SSN COLLEGE OF ENGG was awarded the brand new TVS APACHE and the second prize was a LAPTOP and the third prize was a dhl gift hamper, the 4th was a reliance mobile and the 5th was a printer. the participants thouroughly enjoyed the event conduction and when they gave their feedback our thalai MR.BHALAJI was in happy tears. we cannot forget that day especially, when we were named THE TREND SETTERS of symposium. then our periya thalai SRIDHAR SIR, gave us a treat at vasantha bhavan in TAMBARAM for the tremendous work we had done. the team comprised of SRIDHAR SIR, BHALAJI SIR, SABHA SIR, LABBAI SIR, MURUGAN SIR, GANESH SIR, PRAVEEN, SHIVA, SIDDHARTH, VISHWAANT, SARAVANAN, RAGHAV, PRASANTH, SAJITH AND ME!!
yesssss… a truly wonderful experience and we were back to the pavillion from 9th october with our classes and this time as the whole department was celebrating, it seemed i was with a very biiiiig face sitting proud in my class with all the subject works and record works left behind… at this moment, i would miss something if i don’t forget to mention my classmates help. ARUNA and DEEPA who helped me to complete my record work. they took print outs for me(free of cost!!!! – what a great colleagues i have!!). and as usual i was able to finish my works on time. though i may be a bit low in studies. i have never failed in my other responsibilities. this was the timely moment when i got very close with most of my classmates and started enjoying my life even more!!!!!
then came my semesters and as usual , beginning of confinement and then a free bird into the sky for my holidays…. but not sooo faar.. i started preparing with my placement stuffs which i downloaded from the net and from the well known book, QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE.

SIXTH SEMESTER

here comes the placement stuff. the college reopened with a great fanfare! i made a public appearance in one of the tv channels as a performer!!
i presented a great poetry in pongal poetry contest in JAYA tv. the program was a joint venture with radio mirchi and it was a truly unforgettable day for me before pongal! we got our results that day and it was realllly good! i cleared in all the subjects for the second ever time in my career without applying for revaluation! and my gpa was also good at that time! i had got 8.31 as my gpa and i presented the program very well with my favourite rj that time: SUCHI of radio mirchi- (nw she’s wit radio one). yeah.. the poem was extrordinary explicit.. ok ok no comments.. it was just a compilation of mokkai! or PJ’s. i tried something like the most renowned fellow for rhyming in KOLLYWOOD. yes…. MR. T.R.
ok then beginning with my placement stuff, it was like RAJINI’s movie! eppo varumne theriyaadhu! aana varavendiya nerathula correcta vanthudum! aana sollama than varum!!!

ya my college was very very poor in communication where, we would get the timetable for tomorrow’s exam only today!
this was another one of my unforgettable semesters, where we few guys from all the main departments started to think of a big fest in our college which was to be funfilled with the technical aspects. i was made to think of this plan by a guy from mech. MR. vikas dokania.. i mean… MR.BIKASH KUMAR AGARWAL and then we had formed a team of 9 members started working for it. the members other than myself – my new good friends rather, were:
AMIT KUMAR @ AMIT ANNA from EEE

AKANSHA KALITA – ECE

BIKASH KUMAR AGARWAL @ paisa paisa – MECH

FAKHRUDIN MALLURA – EEE

MAHIM MEHTA – IT

PRAKASH KUMAR PANDEY – EEE

SANDEEP DHALL – BIOTECH and

VIVEK IYER – ECE
we started by developing our communication skills for the placement by beginning our negotiations with all the college management people. yes.. a true fact indeed.. when we ended up in convinvincing them, we lost half of our lives… the tech fest was named AARUUSH which means THE FIRST RAYS OF THE RISING SUN.( i shall post about all the things we did in a new blog called – WHAT NOT TO BE DONE IN SRM! or HOW TO ORGANIZE A TECHFEST).
as all these things were in full flow of work, atlast we came to know about our placements which was scheduled after the semester xams had got over. yet we had a great rumors of what are the companies to come before the college gave us any proper info!
with regard to the subjects is was another splendid semester indeed with a new series od staff we had got.. i cannot forget about one, MR.MURUGANANTHAM who took us DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING. it was really a very very lively class and no one would miss that particular class in the whole semester. another unforgettable staff was MS.KARTHY who took the last ever mathematics subject for us – OPERATIONS RESEARCH. and rest all we had our old staff for the other subjects and the most ever boring subject that semester was ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS. i couldn’t ever cope up with it..
we had a special training session for the placements every monday for 6 continuous weeks from a concern called CAREER PLAN and they trained us really well. that semester we had a paper called personality development which was then changed to placement and training and we were really provided with a good stuff from these people.. thanks to the lack of staff in the placement cell and their good intention to help us get placed..
then began our semesters and we got an info about the placements before the penutimate exam of the sem and we were supposed to check our group mail id’s every now and then! we had to pay rs.2000 for the placements as our registration fee and we were atlast given the arrival of the first company TCS on 2nd july 2007 and the second – COGNIZANT on 6th july 2007. before that we were given a pre placement initiative by these first 2 companies.
i was really impressed by COGNIZANT’S initiative programme EVOLVE as it was named and it was really a entertaining session. i participated well by interacting in all the means i could and it was that day i dreamt of getting placed in that company but waited for the other company’s programme.
boo hoo i got my sixth semester results very early and got an arrear in operations research. since the first 3 companies allowed a maximum of 2 arrears, i escaped narrowly.
the second programme was a total opposite of the first and i really developed a disliking towards TCS. since this was the first company to have come i wanted to get placed in the first company that came like my friends had got placed in their respective colleges!! the day finally arrived!!!
i got well prepared with all my stuff i had and whatever they asked to bring us for the placement. we had the pre-placement talk of tcs on 2nd july and the tests were scheduled to be held the next consecutive day. i was really in a great exitement and was gearing up for the battle!!!.. the next day as per the heard rumors we were preparing with the old test materials we had with us. since it was an online examination it was a INKY PINKY PONKY situation for us. it was a 90 min paper and the xam started.. i had answered whatever i could and once clicked on stop the result would be displayed. the final time had arrived and i clicked on STOP. yesssssssss.. i was soooo exited that i got selected for the next round or to say the – final round of shaping my career..
the next day my interview was scheduled for the noon batch and i was getting ready with my technical stuff. i was not so bad neither soo good in technical. we were very very nervous and exited when we were sitting inside the fully airconditioned auditorium which was specially built for the placements by the college management. for many good things they have done we really owe them a lot!!!!
i went inside and 2 people interviewed me in the panel. they asked me all sorts of questions as they could and i was able to relieve most of the nails they screwed upon me! they left me after some time of 27 minutes. i came out a bit relieved yet a bit tensed whether i was able to satisfy them or not. i came out and started asking about others experiences on their interview and interviewers.. then we started back home after we came to know that the results were to be obtained on the next day.
the next day morning i went to NANGANALLUR ANCHANEYA TEMPLE to pray for everyone in my department to get selected in the interview and get placed in tcs. once i came to the college around 2pm i was totally bewildered because there were as more as 600 people to go in for their interview session. we were informed that the results would be around 6 pm and we came to know that it would be delayed even more. so i was in prayers and was hoping to get into onw of the renowned companies in the IT field. after all the curses and moanings and groanings of hunger we got the results at around 9pm and alas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alll my friends except me who sat for the interview got selected!!! with a very very sad face i came back home late at night around 12am and was totally disheartened because i couldn’t prepare for the next day’s interview. my beloved friend KAZEE@ MR.KARTHIC SRINIVAAS came immediately to my rescue. he helped me by giving me a few tips of how to crack the code for COGNIZANT.
the day arrived and my dream company’s pre placement session was in front of me. i was once again impressed by their punctuality and wanted to get placed somehow in this company..

it was a written test and i got an info from my friend that i cleared the first level test before they could announce the result. yet i was waiting for the result and then i confirmed that i cleared the first level. with good and great hopes i geared up for the next day.
the next day morning my beloved classmate MR.AIYUSH TANDON helped me with a few basic technical stuff and it really helped me in the interview. i was in the first batch and when i went and sat in front of my one and only interviewer. i found that he was my college alumni and i was totally relaxed.. the interview went on for a half an hour and i did it perfectly well.. i was sure and very very confident of getting through.
the time came for the results to be announced……………………………………………………….

YEAH…………………. hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooray…………………………

yipppppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
i GOT SELECTED IN

COGNIZANT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

and i was proud and doubly happy when a few of my friends were also placed in here and my dream came true!!!!.
then began my seventh semester with a great relaxation and tension relieved!!!

SECOND YEAR – GETTING USED TO IT.

June 20, 2008

yes. the second year was once again a pack of cards to be shuffled again. but it was re arranged as per the alphabetical order. i was in section ‘a’ and my class in charge is MR.MURALI – the excellent and lenient staffs the department would have ever seen. he must be the only staff in my department who has not even a single conflict with any student. wah kya baat hai!! the great astonishments lay here was

2 ajay’s
2 ambika’s
2 deepika’s
3 aishwarya’s
3 aditya’s
3 arjun’s
3 aravind’s
3 balaji’s
4 deepan’s and
5 arun’s.

with this list and a few explicit names in between, my roll no. was 49 and i was the only name in ‘c’ – chandrasekar ganapathy sundaresan. easy to be identified by my name as well as by size. i’m proud to be explicit.

THIRD SEMESTER

the days started rolling.as a very happy man this semester coz, i came out of my pathetic college bus and came to the college in my known transport – train(i am crazy about them from my child hood) started moving with a partial set of entirely new people. i knew a few of them earlier. and then for the first time i was not asked for representing the class – the mass.

my class mate aravinthan@KIRI was chosen as the rep. but i was also into the deputation as an office bearer of the great CSEA officially.

got into the department successfully with 2 exceptional subjects:

1. communication engineering -ece dept

2. a compulsory foreign language – deutsch oder japanisch. ich learnt deutsch.

it was a great experience to learn a foreign language and we were advised that it would be helpful for our placement stuffs. we were also told that it would go up to 2 semesters. good work. isn’t it?

then came the first ever disaster in my career. the results were out for the second semester and the contradiction lies here: i got an ‘s’ grade[1st position] in electrical circuits and an arrear in electron devices and circuits. it was a horror for me to face my parents but because of my friend’s help[mr.BHAARADWAJ] i managed to apply for revaluation and informed in my house that the paper had some mistakes while correcting and hence it had gone for re-valuation. i did not open my mouth that i got an arrear in that subject. it was said that the reval results would be out in a month”s time.

a month had passed but i had failed to cleat the paper. then what else:

!@@%^~%$&%&(^$#@!!@#$%&_&^!@#$$^&&*()(_)_**%#!@!@
##&(@&)%%%%&*@#%@##@!%%*%^(*_*_!#~!@~@#~~~~~!Q~!#@#$%#%^&%^
*^(&)()_(_+%&#%$^^($%&&(%&$%@$!$#^%*&()()_@^&(#%&(#%$^&*)*_*+()^)%%^
#%@!$!#%^(@!#$@^&)*&)@%@%^*)*$^#$^%#&&)%&#^#$&&)%&#%@%#^%*^&)#$%@
#$!#$%@^%**_^#$%*@##&%&”}>?:{“{{

scoldings from my parents only.

but i managed to convince them by saying i got an ‘s’ grade in electricals and it was the fault of the college not letting me pass in the subject.. how clever was i to convince these people!!! ya ok ok ok i understand your appreciations for me. thank u thank u..

then, before a month’s time to semester i was back into my own business. yes. became the class representative as per my class in charge’s orders and once again back to form. i had no oppositions except for the attendance proxies. oh no. no time for these stuffs and had to proceed with the semester preparations. ya the confinement this time began more severely coz of my arrear in that particular subject. ok ok, its also a part of my life na!! i studied well for my arrears than i studied in the previous semester and did all the subjects well. the semester got over and now what? enjoy holidays!! what else????

FOURTH SEMESTER

ya, from now on i was appointed as the permanent representative of my class and once again the preparations started in the association for the open house scheduled like the previous year. this time the lab atmosphere changed totally. as i said that the facilities and equipments were great in the campus, they were upgraded at this time. all the crt monitors were replaced by tft’s and all the pc’s were IBM pc’s and the latest arrival was that of I-MAC from apple!! our college was the only institution among the very few elites to have bought these pc’s ranging from rs.70000/- what an excellent features these pc’s have!! something really great!!

by this time as thought of earlier, the results of the semester had come and to my horror, i cleared the second semester arrear and got a new one in the third semester! how horrible!! wat else to do?? the same old story and the same old way of applying for revaluation. my gpa in the second semester was 8.232.

yes the open house was there and for the gaming arena we had counter strike and nfs underground 2. it was an scintillating experience to play 15 against 15 on a local area network. something which i had never seen in my life time!

then came the great thunder – a big blow to all the deemed universities in the country.

it started with the problem of deemed universities acquiring a lot of strength and courses without the approval of AICTE- All India Council for Technical Education – a subordinate of UGC – University Grants Commission. the problem was acquiring the approval of aicte for deemed universities nevertheless, the student’s were only to be acquiring a B.SC degree and not a BE or B.TECH degree.

the problem in my college started with a great difference of opinion and a misunderstanding by the hostelites with the management authorities and they went on a total rampage into the campus in the midnight, breaking and stealing all the goods available in their hands. and my hi-tech lab was the worst affected of them all. when i went to the college after the chaos, i was deeply affected by the situation prevailing there. there was a total ventilation in the lab and u can get into the lab from any direction. a real pathetic situation.

the college was closed indefinitely at that moment. though there were a few mishaps, it was a mixed happiness for me, because, my re-val results were out and i cleared the paper. yet, my gpa in third semester was only 7.704 hmmm ok, next time i can improve.

after all the problems were sorted out the UGC granted UNIVERSITY status to all the deemed universities and our college opened 3and a half weeks after the rampage. it was a calm and quiet day when we came back to the college and silence prevailed everywhere. the management was very very cross with the students and our technical director DR.PONNAVAIKKO ordered us not to behave very silly like this. the great thing happened was that we were not asked to pay any cumulative fine for the damaged goods and the management themselves replaced all. before all could come back to normalcy, oh no!! confinement began once again!! the semesters!!! ok we started learning with the policy, “BETTER LATE THAN NEVER”.

once the exams got over i went on a trip to Bangalore to my aunt’s house. a cool and a silent place for residing and in all other aspects it was the worst ever place to be!! those who all are very fond of that idiotic cosmopolitan city, i’m sorry. please excuse me..

FIRST YEAR – THE BEGINNING

June 20, 2008

Yes i remember the day when my college began. it was the 23rd of july, my best friend raghav or cutout(as we named him) birthday. as the other fellows would do, i went to college with my mom jus to show her the campus which i saw earlier a week before. she was amazed and i actually saw the new picture of an university campus.

FIRST SEMESTER

First impression is always a best impression. seems i was a scholar sitting amidst my colleagues. we were asked to call ourselves scholars by MR.ABRAHAM BENJAMIN SAMUEL(the hod of the English dept. what a flawless speech!). i was as usual mesmerized by the rules of the college as explained that day but was thrilled when came to know that we had no uniforms(“no comments pls”). after the inaugural session got over, we roamed around the campus to check out its facilities that we were to avail. hmmmmmm awesome……..

As decided by my parents(especially by my aunt- she holds a great grip on me. actually she’s my GODMOTHER. I owe her a lot.) i was ordered to go by college bus and not by TRAIN(my fav mode of transport) coz of a gauge conversion work. i started going by bus from the next day i.e 24th of july. our route no. is 122(most famous for the bus driver) . when i entered along with ma friends, i jus got a seat in the middle when the others were stuck in the hands of the seniors.
they just gave an amazing look and started their business(ragging – my friends ha ha ha !!). from my area myself , ASHISH(mech) , MADUSUDAN(ece), NARESH PRABHU(cse), PREM(ece), KOUSHIK (or kuoshik – mech) were from the same gang. no senior even talked with me the first day on my way to the college. that day in the evening i was no an exception when those guys introduced me to the seniors. even then i was not ragged. they just asked me to sing coz i said i learn music and enjoyed a good time with them..

FRESHER’S PARTY:

the most unforgettable moment in the 3rd week of ma college life. our seniors invited us for the freshers party and said that we were allowed to perform some cultural events. in order to introduce myself to such a biiiiig department. i decided to sing.(my voice is ok). after 2 days of great thoughts i jus thought of remaking a famous song. – MARO MARO – from BOYS.
the lyrics goes here as follows:
the first stanza was as in that song and the second one was the new make / re make:

“collar t-shirt potta thappu
round neck t-shirt potta thappu
sleeveless t-shirt potta thappu
faded jeans potta thappu

ringtone sattham ketta thappu
classa cut adicha thappu
classukku latea vandha thappu
comment pass panna thappu

observation mudikkatta thappu
home work mudikkatta thappu thappu thappu thappu thappu
over coat illenna thappu
workshop uniform podatta thappu

vittakka innum solvandaaaa
BREAK THE RULES!!!”

yes i was familiarized by the college rules and sang this on stage in front of my HOD and other staffs. yeah cooool… !! they forgot to wink their eyes and i got a tremendous response from my seniors!! yeah!!!!
A TRULY UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT ISN’T IT?

as usual i continued my duties there as i was appointed the CLASS REPRESENTATIVE, (for the nth time from my school days) and had to proceed with the duties imposed by the staff in charges. maintaining daily attendance sheets, staff substitution, class monitoring, xerox material distribution and collection, attendance percentage …… phew!!!

1. BUGABOO- have u ever heard this word before? APPLAFLAMAPHOBIA, KORADJI ????
we came to know these words existence because of our beloved English staff MR.BABU RAJENDRA PRASAD. i have a very high regard for him. though he would seem to be very very funny with his speech and others would literally mock at him, i have really improved my English knowledge and some percentage in my vocabulary too.

2. next bewildering character was our physics staff MS.VASUHI, a school teacher literally, and used to beat the students with a stick and give them the standard punishments for their slight misbehavior. a few exception’s like me would jus get a rough stuff of her speech and would walk away with a smile .. :)

and as usual the first semester went on and on with a mixture of happiness and sorrow. after a month’s time my granny fell ill and i lost her on 11th November 2004 – the day of my physics model exam. a state of deeeep sorrow on the whole for more than a month.. i couldn’t imagine her death when she was so well. what to do! u can’t stop time running out!! had to recover.
there were a series of deaths that followed it. death of the CARNATIC LEGEND Smt. M.S.SUBBULAKSHMI and the most unforgettable devastating TSUNAMI – December 26th 2004 the day of my granny’s monthly ceremonial(a custom followed by brahmins) , the day before my chemistry exam. i myself experienced tremors on that day morning at around 6.06a.m when i heard the doors of my house shake.

ya. my semester exams got over on 31st December 2004 and i had a hope to start a brand new year ahead with happiness (at least in my face).

SECOND SEMESTER

The second semester began amidst all the confusions that prevailed. our classes were shuffled and along with a very few friends i had to change to the next class where i got very close with my best friend now. RAGHAV…. i have many more friends, but not as close as this guy. it was in this semester we got into our department came to know about more staffs, especially the thalai of our department PROF.S.S.SRIDHAR and other chinna thalai’s MR.BHALAJI, MR.SABHA sir, and many other staffs. we got into the CSEA- Computer Science and Engineering Association – INNOVATE TO EXCEL unofficially.

it was the first ever time i had seen. our college organized a function called THE OPEN HOUSE where all the departments showcased their achievements and talents and the facilities they have to the public. we became a part of it and started to work for the department and its activities. we had no idea of what are the other staffs doing behind the scene and we just did what we were supposed to do. sheer innocence.

got my results for the first sem, cleared all with a gpa- [grade point accredit ion followed only in some universities of high standards ( like ours!!)] of 7.914

1. the unforgettable’s, would be the civil engineering staff who took engineering drawing for us.. B A S E base. though we used to enjoy like a hell it was he,MR.Ravi, who gave us a very good detail of how the shapes and sizes are constructed. a great staff indeed.

2. the most ever enjoyable subject i had was the electrical circuits. though i had a big hatred towards the study of electrical and electronics, this subject was truly interesting indeed because of our beloved staff MS. UTHRA who really explained all the concepts of electrical engg. and its was supposed to be the best way of teaching i have ever had. the subject was totally problem oriented and less of a theory and i got an ‘s’ grade in that paper, the only paper which i deserved to have got it. an excellent staff i have ever had till now.

after all these things got over. there came the end of the first year, in a jiffy!!
the semester began and had all sorts of complexities in it. the digital fundamental paper was totally out of syllabus and electron devices and circuits seemed a greek and latin for me!! oh no!!
ya all these to be forgotten.. and enjoy semester leave…
bye bye first year!!!
